Double-faced goddess flute. In the villages these flutes are made for a certain period of time and then not produced for years after. Tlatilco (1300-1800 B.C.) was one of the great pottery sites of Mexico noted for female figurines, which often had two faces. This is considered by some to represent the dualism (light/dark, night/day) which is the basis of later Mexican religions. Itís an interesting parallel with the Chinese principles of yin and yang. This ocarina has a lovely low sound.
